The truthful guide to making $575K on Fiverr 💸
This growth idea has worked on 6,000+ projects...
June 14, 2020: My first sale as a writer.
Three Facebook ad copies at $13 each. The client's feedback? "Not really feeling these man, sorry."
I scrapped everything and started over. Twice. The order auto-completed 13 days later without so much as a "thank you" or a review.
13 days = $40 🙃
Most people would've quit right there. But strangely enough, this proved to me that making money writing online WAS possible.
💸 Five years later, I've generated $575,000+ on platforms like Fiverr
With over 6,000 projects under my belt, I've been named a Recommended Seller for 2025, placing me in the top 0.03% of 380,000 active sellers.

If you want to get started or break through the $2-3K/month ceiling that traps most solo business owners → start doing the opposite of what feels "safe".
Generating half a million dollars writing online wasn’t pretty or easy.
But it was filled with quick growth ideas that ANYONE can replicate. Fast.
🧠 Everything changed when I understood this
What do 99% of freelancers and solopreneurs get wrong?
They think being a "generalist" gives them more opportunities ❌
That's wayyyyy too safe.
When I started, I called myself a "copywriter."
Generic as hell!
This meant I was playing hide and seek amongst thousands of other "copywriters.”
So, instead of competing with everyone, I chose to compete with almost no one.
Old positioning: "I'm a copywriter"
New positioning: "I will professionally write your website to boost sales"
The impacts can be seen instantly.
Clients can now find you when searching for specific services, and you’re seen as an expert rather than a jack-of-all-trades.
😰 But what if you’re scared to limit yourself?
Look, we all fear saying "no" to opportunities.
Sometimes your brain screams "But I'll miss out on work!" when you niche down.
But I have the solution.
Pick ONE thing you're already good at and become THE person for that specific thing.
Graphic Designer: Instead of: "I'm a graphic designer" Become: "I create Instagram carousels for fitness brands"
Podcast Producer: Instead of: "I edit podcasts" Become: "I produce AI-enhanced podcasts for fintech startups"
This positioning literally forces clients to see you as the expert, not just another person competing on price.
Over time, specialisation can lead to Pro status, industry recognition and building a personal brand.
🤯 Then use the upsell strategy that doubles revenue
Stack complementary services on top of your speciality, and you can double your income per project. Here’s what this could look like:
For Facebook ad clients: Audience targeting suggestions and video scripts
For landing page clients: Extra headline variations or an FAQ section
For email clients: Complementary SMS and DM copy
…you get the idea.
These aren't random upsells.
They're natural extensions that improve the effectiveness of the primary deliverable.
Try it yourself: Look at your last project. What did the client need to do AFTER your work to get results? That's your next revenue stream.
💡 Your Friday takeaway
After completing 6,000+ projects, I've watched people try everything:
Working longer hours to make more money
Taking every project that comes their way
Treating each client interaction like a one-off transaction
Competing purely on price
But what they should have tried first is… niching down ruthlessly and maximising the dollar amount from every order.
It costs nothing. Requires no new skills. Works instantly.
In my journey so far, no other shift has had a bigger impact on growth.
TL;DR - Pick one specific skill and become THE person for it - clients will pay premium rates for specialists while generalists compete on price.
See you next week 🚀
